On Monday night the A team took on another Clifton side in a tense and dramatic evening of chess. There was a very promising start with two of our younger stars, Oliver and Lana both scoring wins over much higher rated opponents. Their progress this season has been remarkable! Edward then secured a draw on board two. The other three games, however, were very much in the balance and could have gone either way. Unfortunately, one and then another went the way of Clifton leaving the match very much in the balance. Baptiste’s game swung one way and then the other. However, with both players in time trouble, Baptiste’s experience showed and he was able to win after a tense struggle!
With this result the team move up to 2nd in the league! Roll on!
