On Friday night we saw the return of the club lectures that proved so popular last year when Andrew demonstrated famous games by each of the past World Champions. This year the focus is on the openings, starting with The French Defence. With Andrew very ably assisted by SJ (the Advance Variation) and Oliver (the Exchange Variation) the main ideas behind this classic defence were explained to a packed audience.
