On Friday night, after the Junior Blitz (congraluations Cinar and especially Joseph, who attende the club for the first time!) Jane, who has been the driving force - not only for our club, but chess in Portishead, Bristol and Somerset - was given a birthday cake and card. The cake was eagerly devoured by the juniors! there was also a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday”, not only for Jane but for Ibrahim, one of our outstanding juniors who is improving at supersonic pace!
