Two Super-charged Events this week!

Portishead Chess Club Championships

Not so many matches this week as the season winds down - but there is a huge match away on Tuesday against Bristol & Clifton’s Junior Team. The result of this match could decide whether or not we gain promotion. The opposition currently are in first place! I am also told by our club captain that we are playing with an experimental team - so who knows what might happen!

Next up is the monthly club Rapidplay (10 minutes on the clock). Turn up by 7.00 pm and it’s fast and furious! Remember that these tournaments are also qualifiers for the Club Championships!

And don’t forget to watch Chess Masters: the endgame! Whatever you think of it - and I have no idea - it’s important to support anything that generates interest in chess.
